Welcome to VTT sponsored by my friend Suzanne (who always knows when you need a card and exactly what to say in it) at Coloradolady. This week, I'm featuring one of the finds from our antiquing jaunt a couple weeks back. I think my Mom had one of these. It's a "Modern Tri-Top Chip and Dip bowl" from Indiana Glass.
The thing we like best is the way the hanger for the small bowl works. It actually clips onto both bowls, making the dip bowl very secure, so....
We can use it for Rob's famous Guacamole without worrying that the dip will crash into the chips.
Or, we can use it for some of my favorite fabulous Peach Salsa.
The box is as much a find as the bowl. It has all the cardboard inserts that secured the bowls for shipping. And, it has the original K-Mart Price tag with all but the last digit still there. The bowl cost $2.90 something new. I think we paid about $12 for it and I found one on ebay that started at $15 + $16 shipping, so I'm proud of our bargain. But, as much as we like it, it would have been worth it even if we'd overpaid a little.
Take care and have a great VTT and wander over to Suzanne's and see her husband's pocket watch collection. But whisper, Steve doesn't know he's a collector yet.

In the box too, wow that is a great find. Most of the time the boxes get throw away. I think you got a good deal there. By the way, the dips made me hungry, they look delicious.
What a great find complete with the box and the original bill of sale. Such good fun!
What a find. I have a chip and dip bowl similar to yours which was a wedding gift -- almost 50 years ago.

Mmm...tasty salsa and guacamole in a vintage chip and dip bowl..mmmm
It's great when you kind find a vintage thingie that is useful. And the box makes it extra nice.
I love that dip bowl combo. It's such a unique shape and looks like some substantial glass. How cool to get it with the original box! Pass the chips and dip over this way, please!
Definitely unique - and a box too! Lucky!
Great bowl! I've never seen one before-love that you use it and have the box.
Great chip and dip bowl and the peach salsa was great! I had a chip or two of the Quacamole...it's my favorite.
My Mom had one of these too....she may still have the large bowl, not the dip bowl, but man, the box is great!!! What a find! Glad you liked the cards....have a great day my friend!! Happy VTT!
My mom had a frosty green glass chip and dip bowl with the same clip on thingie. I like that design better than the current little bowl in the middle of big dish type that is made now.
Love the chip and dip bowl and ooo, that peach salsa sounds wonderful. Happy VTT..
That's really neat! Makes me hungry to see the chips, guacamole and salsa.
Fantastic find, it's amazing the the box survived so well.
