Finally Friday and a new book

Well, it's finally Friday and I've taken a half day for mental health, just to be alone and sew. I ran all my errands and am back home. Now what??? Not sure I know what to do by myself. I can sew or read or nap or watch TV.

In yesterday's mail, I got my copy of Bonnie Hunter's Leaders and Enders book. It's left me inspired to stop what I'm working on and start working on the LE quilt I've been working on for a year. And, sure enough, there's a picture of the quilt I'm making. The Triple Irish Chain on page 85 named Happily Scrappily Irish. But, I'm going to be good and keep working on quilting the log cabin. Can't wait to show it off. Maybe next week. I'm hoping to make significant progress this weekend.

Okay, so my NY resolution update.

Lose 15 pounds - and this week, I didn't lose any weight. But, I'm still trying. And, I'm down 5 pounds total so far this year. Slow and steady wins the race, right?

Spend more time with the family - done, done and DONE! And, today I'm spending some time alone. Nuff said.

Finish projects - the log cabin is proceeding nicely, 5 of 11 blocks quilted (yes, an 11 block square quilt. intrigued?). And, this weekend, I need to start something new, but I have a really good excuse. I need to make a baby quilt. Not due until April, but I hate to be rushed, so I'll start now and piece a little along until it's done. No progress on Sydney's bed skirt except that I now have a pattern. Found it in a very old sewing book. Does planning count as part of producing?

Okay, I'm off to the sewing machine. I have good TV and 2 hours. See ya! Lane

11 blocks in a square? I am intrigued.

I have been trying to lose the same 15 lbs for about three years now, and it didn't budge until I found this article on sciencedaily.com

I stopped eating between 8PM and 8AM and I'm down 3.5 lbs since the end of November when the article came out. It has had the best side effect-- the brain fog I was having cleared up the first day I tried it (guess my liver needs to have time to do more than digest food.)

Can't wait to see the 11 block square. 11 blocks??

You've lost 5 pounds after one month and you have 12 months to go to lose the rest. You're doing amazingly well.

PS Can't wait to see those quilts finished. You always do such a great job.

Remember, if you lose weight slowly, it is likely to stay off!!! Interesting what lw said--hmm--don't eat between 8P and 8A---maybe I will try that. Anywhoo--have a great week-end. I did call off--about 3 inches of snow BUT now it is sleeting.

I think the planning and all the prelim stuff counts toward production! You can't have one with out the other! I'm on the diet trail myself. Hang in there. Enjoy the process of quilting!! :)

Planning is definitely part of production. You got your Bonnie Hunter book already? I'm tempted to walk the 7/10th of a mile down to my mailbox to see if the mail carrier made it through today's snowstorm to bring my copy yet, but it is terribly cold out there, and after walking downhill 7/10th of a mile, I'd have to walk back up! I guess I'll just wait...
