I will not be beaten…

by a stupid pattern.

I cut the front of that blue shirt again last night.  And, today, I started trying to put it together again.

Okay, y’all.  I gotta tell you, these instructions are the stupidest pile of crap I’ve ever seen.  Clearly translated by a machine from the original Russian that the rest of the pattern has all over it.  Not that I mind a translated set of instructions BUT GET SOMEONE THAT SEWS TO DO IT!

Unfortunately, because I have vowed not to let this beat me, my OCD dictates that I cannot put it down until it is done.  So, that means I can’t get back to my quilting just yet, but I will soon.  I have new incentive for that.

The wool batting came in from Connecting Threads yesterday.

And, this is what I added to my order to get me the free shipping.

Five Thousand yards of cotton thread (doesn’t it look like more when you write it out?)  The color is corn silk.  Sydney saw that and asked “what all do they make thread out of?”  Took me a minute to realize she thought the color was the content.

Oops.

Take care.  Have a great Tuesday.  I have met a man that sews, here in Austin.  Well, I haven’t met him yet, but I’ve located him and am trying to meet him.  Another man that sews.  Wow.

Let us know how you like the wool batting I've been dying to try it .That pattern or the people who made it doesn't have a chance of beating our Lane :-)

you totally had me laughing, not at you but with you about those Burda instructions. They are a German company and living here, speaking (very poor) German they make even less sense...go figure.

By the time you figure that pattern out, you could write it yourself. I've used Burda before, and if I hadn't already known how to sew a skirt, it wouldn't have happened.

Does your other man who sews have a blog? I do love seeing what folks are doing.

You WILL win, you will.
I've never had the pleasure of using that brand of pattern and I think I will use your experience to never use that brand. Thanks for that.

Well now that the quilting bug has bitten I haven't done any garment sewing but I do remember doing it.

I too am interested in the guy who sews and wondering if he has a blog.

Looks like you're doing a very nice job, despite the pattern instructions. Just keep sewing, sewing, sewing . . .

We've got a man who comes to the shop to knit with those who gather every Tuesday. It is AWESOME! The first time most of the women there have seen a male knitter. I love it!
