This is a picture of the quilt I have under the machine right now. It's a sample that everybody like when I showed the whole thing here. This was the first block I quilted. I've finished 2 more and have a third one started. But, those have washout pen marks all in them, so I'll spritz them before I show pics. All the blocks have HST's around the edges. I decided to quilt each block with some version of feathers and those curved lines in the HST's. But, making feathers fit into each block is quite a challenge.
And, this quilt was also featured in that other post. This is my hand-quilting project and I'm getting an average 11 stitches to the inch. Try as I might, I can't always get 12 stitches. But, 10-11 is getting pretty easy because the batting is so thin in this quilt.
Every stitch in this little quilt has been by hand, piecing and quilting. I'm hoping to take it on vacation and finish it on the drive. I don't know if I'll try to sew the binding on completely by hand. That just seems a little crazy to me. But, I like being able to say that every stitch is by hand, so I might have to figure out a way to be a little crazy.
I'm back world. And, it's about time because all that depression was boring the heck outta me.
Blessing 9 - the hard drive on the laptop is busted. But, there's a new laptop in stock just around the corner from the house. So, I hope to be back to my old computer using self again by bedtime.
Blessing 10 - there's a frozen dinner in the freezer so I don't have to cook tonight and can play with a new laptop.
Ya' know, this counting my blessings thing is working pretty good. I just have to remember that it can't be done in a half hour. It takes time to find all the blessings sometimes. Like a good Easter egg hunt.

I love the feather quilting in the first block and your hand stitching in the drunkard's path is excellent. Glad to hear you're taking charge of your world again-- and even gladder to see what you create when you're in charge.
I love the feather stitches. I am celebrating my stitching as well.....only I'm celebrating that I am getting 8/ inch! That is up 2 from the 6 I used to do. It is now 8 pretty consistently and I'll keep at it to try to go smaller....thin batting does help, doesn't it! I'm glad you are back...I've been praying for you. Enjoy the new laptop! Becky
That first block is amazing Lane! The 3D quality of it is unreal. Your hand quilting is beautiful also. I can't believe you did that whole quilt by hand but hey, we all need to get a little crazy sometimes and do things just because we can. I love a challenge. You're sounding much more positive. Great to have you back to your old self. I hate it when I'm depressed too.
Those hand quilting stitches are lovely! I love the design you've chosen. Feathers are something I've never tried - I always feel like they are beyond me - but one of these days I'm just going to take the plunge. I think they are so gorgeous!
